The Comet P40 Molded Collector is the new-style one-piece polypropylene manifold for the P40 diaphragm pump. Poly is why it handles SH where a brass head corrodes. Part 10002-14670-R replaces the old multi-piece manifold and cuts the leak points that came with it.
Key Features
-
One-piece molded body: Replaces the old multi-piece P40 manifold, so there are fewer seams to leak and less to service.
-
Polypropylene resists SH: Poly is the reason Comet builds this collector in plastic instead of brass. It holds up to chlorine soft wash mix where metal heads corrode.
-
Genuine OEM Comet part: Exact fit and correct dimensions for the P40, not a generic aftermarket casting you have to shim or fight.
-
Handles full P40 flow: Rated for the P40's 300 PSI and 14.5 GPM max. Most soft wash builds run it around 11 GPM.
-
Bare collector only: The molded collector by itself. Mounting hardware, regulator, and foot aren't included, so you're not paying for parts you already have.

What's Included
- One molded polypropylene collector (part 10002-14670-R)
- Mounting hardware not included
Fits the new-style Comet P40 diaphragm pump. It doesn't include the regulator, foot, elbow, or spacers. Those ship only in the full retrofit kit (10002-14670KIT). If your P40 uses the old multi-piece manifold, this one-piece collector isn't a straight drop-in, so confirm your pump style first or go with the retrofit kit. It's not for the Comet MC25, which takes different parts.
How It Works
The collector is the one-piece body on the discharge end of the P40's three-diaphragm pump. Fluid comes in through the central inlet, the diaphragms push it through the collector's flow paths, check valves keep it moving one direction, and O-rings seal the collector to the valve seats. The outlet and bypass ports send flow to your gun and back to the tank.
Comet moved the P40 to a one-piece poly collector to kill the leak points of the old multi-part manifold and make service faster. Run SH through it all day. The only discipline is the same as any soft wash rig: rinse and neutralize after each job, since surfactants slowly stress-crack poly if you leave them sitting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is polypropylene safe with sodium hypochlorite?
Yes. Poly is the reason Comet builds the P40 collector in plastic instead of brass. It's rated satisfactory for sodium hypochlorite, so it won't corrode in chlorine soft wash mix. Rinse and neutralize after each job, since surfactants slowly stress-crack poly over time.
Does the Comet P40 collector come with the regulator and pump foot?
No. This is the bare collector only. The regulator, foot, elbow, and two spacers ship in the full retrofit kit (10002-14670KIT). If you need those parts too, buy the kit instead of the bare collector.
Will this collector fit my old-style P40?
This is the new-style one-piece collector. Old-style P40s used a multi-piece manifold, so this isn't always a straight swap. Check your pump style before ordering, or run the full retrofit kit to convert it.
