The Comet P40 soft wash sprayer with CRX225 electric start moves up to 12 GPM at 300 PSI. A three-diaphragm Comet P40 pump runs off a 224cc CRX225 electric-start engine, so high flow, not pressure, carries your SH mix to a third story.
Key Features
-
Up to 12 GPM: High volume pushes your SH mix through the hose and up a shooter tip without leaning on pressure.
-
Comet P40 pump: A three-diaphragm wet end with a polypropylene body and 316 stainless check valves, built for sodium hypochlorite. No brass in the wetted path.
-
CRX225 electric start: Key start with low-oil shutdown on a 224cc engine, geared down to the pump's 550 RPM to cut heat and diaphragm wear.
-
Bolt-on regulator: Set working pressure for the surface in front of you and route excess flow back through the bypass.
-
Stainless steel skid: Corrosion-resistant baseplate with rubber feet, built to live in a chemical environment.

The sprayer is built to spec with a 1 to 2 week lead time and ships freight. It doesn't include a battery, tanks, hose, reel, gun, or proportioner. The CRX225 is electric start, so you supply a 12V battery. This is a low-pressure, high-volume soft wash sprayer, not a pressure washer, and it's built for SH and surfactant, not solvents or acids.
How It Works
The CRX225 engine drives the P40 pump through a gearbox that drops engine speed to the pump's 550 RPM. The three diaphragms self-prime, draw your SH and surfactant mix from a tank through the 1" inlet, and push it out the 3/4" discharge at low pressure and high volume. That flow, paired with the right gun and nozzle, is what reaches a two or three-story roof. Set the regulator to the lowest pressure that still gets there, never run the pump dry or sit in bypass more than a minute, and flush the wet end with fresh water for at least five minutes at the end of every day on bleach. Residual SH left sitting in the pump is what corrodes it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Comet P40 sprayer a pressure washer?
No. It's a low-pressure, high-volume soft wash sprayer that moves up to 12 GPM at 300 PSI. Flow carries the mix to height. Running it as a high-pressure unit damages surfaces and voids the warranty.
Does the CRX225 electric start come with a battery?
No. The engine is key start and needs a 12V battery you supply. The rest of the rig (proportioner, hose, reel, gun, and tanks) is sold separately or comes in the Comet P40 bundle.
Can I buy this sprayer in California?
This unit carries a 49-state EPA emissions certification and isn't certified for sale in California. If you run California routes, look for a CARB-compliant unit before you order.
