The Comet P40 Soft Wash Sprayer runs 11.5 GPM at 300 PSI on a Honda GX200 engine and a Comet P40 pump. It moves SH at high volume and low pressure, so you can reach a roof or second story without blasting the surface. Pick pull or electric start.
Key Features
-
11.5 GPM at 300 PSI: High volume, low pressure. Full-strength chemical right at the pump, no downstream dilution.
-
Genuine Honda GX200: A 196cc four-stroke that starts easy and runs for years, not a clone engine that fades.
-
Comet P40 diaphragm pump: Three diaphragms, self-priming, with a one-piece manifold and 316 stainless check valves.
-
No brass in the wetted path: Polypropylene body, 316 stainless check valves, and chemical-resistant diaphragms take SH without corroding.
-
Bolt-on GCP 20 regulator: Sets your working pressure and routes the extra back to the tank. The dump valve lets you agitate the batch without unhooking anything.
-
Pull or electric start: CP40-P recoil start, or CP40-EL push-button electric start.

What's Included
- Honda GX200 engine, pull or electric start by variant
- Comet P40 3-diaphragm pump with the factory GCP 20 regulator and gearbox
- Welded frame with anti-vibration feet
Not included: hose, reel, mix tank, gun, and chemical. The hose and reel come with the Comet P40 Soft Wash Bundle. It draws from a batch tank through the 1" inlet and feeds your hose and gun off the 3/4" outlet, with the 1/2" bypass back to the tank. It's a low-pressure chemical sprayer, not a high-pressure washer, so it won't blast surfaces. Don't run it dry. It needs flooded suction from the tank.
How It Works
The Honda GX200 spins the Comet P40's gearbox. Three diaphragms pull your SH mix from the tank through the 1" inlet and push it out the 3/4" outlet at up to 11.5 GPM and 300 PSI. The GCP 20 regulator sets your working pressure and sends the excess back through the 1/2" bypass, and its dump valve lets you recirculate and agitate the batch.
Run the output through a hose and reel to a soft wash gun and you can put a low-pressure stream on a roof or second-story siding without tearing up the surface. The polypropylene body and 316 stainless check valves carry SH without the corrosion that kills brass pumps. Flush with fresh water after SH to get more life out of the diaphragms and seals.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the pull start and electric start Comet P40 Soft Wash Sprayer?
CP40-P is recoil (pull) start. CP40-EL is electric, push-button start, which runs off a 12V battery. You get the same Honda GX200 and Comet P40 either way. Electric start earns its keep on cold mornings and high-cycle days.
Will the Comet P40 handle SH?
Yes. The pump has a polypropylene body, 316 stainless check valves, and chemical-resistant diaphragms, built for SH. There's no brass in the wetted path, so it won't corrode the way cheaper pumps do. Flush it with fresh water at the end of the day.
Does the Comet P40 Soft Wash Sprayer come with a hose and reel?
No. The sprayer is the engine, the pump, and the frame. The hose and reel come with the Comet P40 Soft Wash Bundle. Buy the sprayer on its own if you already run a hose, reel, and tank.
