How to Choose the Right Soft Wash System
This page collects every level of soft wash system we sell. On one end is a standalone sprayer you'll plumb into your own rig. On the other is a fully assembled bundle that ships ready to spray once you connect your tanks. Which one's right comes down to how complete a setup you need, what power source fits your work, and what flow rate matches the jobs you actually run.
Standalone sprayer or complete bundle?
A standalone sprayer is the pump and engine on a skid. The Comet P40 and AR45 ship this way. You bring the proportioner, hose, reel, gun, fittings, and tanks. That's the right call if you're upgrading a rig you already run. A bundle adds everything downstream of the pump: proportioner, hose with reel, gun, plumbing kit, and a gallon of surfactant. One box, parts already matched, spraying as soon as you hook up your tanks. That's what most operators buy.
Power source: gas, 12V, or 24V
Gas systems (Comet P40, AR45) run a 6.5 HP Honda GX200 and put out around 11 GPM at 300 PSI, with the electric-start CRX225 P40 reaching 12 GPM. They're the pick for full-time routes and ground reach on two- and three-story work. The 12V systems (Remco 5.3 and 7 GPM) run off your truck battery, cost about half what a gas bundle does, and stay quiet enough for HOAs that won't tolerate an engine. The 24V Remco Zeus is the high-flow battery option at 14 GPM and 150 PSI, built for high-volume work without a gas engine. For the full breakdown, read our 12V vs Gas Soft Wash Pumps guide.
Flow rate and job type
For siding, single-story roofs, and driveways, 5 to 7 GPM is plenty. Once you're into commercial buildings, big HOAs, or three-story reach from the ground, you want 10 GPM or more. Between sizes, or planning to chase bigger jobs this year? Size up. Undersizing is the thing we hear operators regret most a year into the trade.
If you're not sure which one fits your work, book a call before you buy. We'll spec the system to what you're washing and what you're driving.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a complete soft wash system?
It's every part you need to put SH and surfactant on a roof or wall: a chemical-rated pump, a proportioner to mix chlorine, water, and soap, a hose and reel that hold up to SH, a soft wash gun, and the plumbing that ties it together. Our bundles include all of that plus a gallon of surfactant. You supply the tanks and the vehicle.
What's the difference between a soft wash sprayer and a complete system?
A sprayer is the pump-and-engine unit on its own (or pump-and-battery on the 12V models). A complete system adds everything downstream: proportioner, hose, reel, gun, and plumbing. Starting from zero, buy a bundle. Upgrading a rig where the hose, reel, and gun still work, the standalone sprayer is the cheaper way in.
Which soft wash system should I buy?
Solo on residential, the Remco 12V 5 GPM Bundle is the cheapest working setup. For one rig that covers about 90% of residential, two-story houses included, the Remco 12V 7 GPM Bundle is the most popular pick. Daily commercial routes, multi-story, or full-time work go gas (Comet P40 or AR45) or step up to the 24V Zeus 14 GPM.
What's the best soft wash system to start with?
The Remco 12V 5 GPM Soft Wash Bundle. Lowest cost of entry, runs off your truck battery so there's no engine to maintain, and it comes with the pump, proportioner, hose, reel, gun, plumbing kit, and a gallon of surfactant. Most operators move up to a 7 GPM 12V or a gas unit later, but 5 GPM is enough to learn the trade and book your first jobs without overspending.
Can one soft wash system handle both residential and commercial work?
Yes, if you size up. The Comet P40, AR45, and Remco Zeus 14 GPM all have the flow and reach for both. The 12V 7 GPM covers most residential and some light commercial, but it'll come up short on three-story work or large flat roofs where you need distance. If your route mixes both, buy the gas or 24V system. It costs more now, but you won't be upgrading in a year.
Can a soft wash system also pressure wash?
Most can't. The Pressure Ranger 2-in-1 is the one built for it, running 400 PSI for soft washing up to 3,500 PSI for pressure washing on the same unit, in 6 and 10 GPM models. The pump, unloader, and regulator are 316 stainless and Viton, so it survives SH where a standard pressure washer pump would fail. For pressure-only work all day, a belt-drive truck mount is still the better long-term buy.
